Volunteering Goals

Alex volunteering at Sassy Ability.

Alex loves socialising and recently achieved his latest goal… volunteering!

Alex’s week is full of everything he wants to do. From cooking to ceramics classes, movies and Men’s Shed. Alex has now taken on a new role of volunteering at Sassy Ability. Each week Alex assists with greeting members, taking payments, handling receipts and wiping down tables.

We are delighted to see that you are achieving your goals Alex.

Alex says: “I am a very social person so this type of volunteering is perfect for me as I get to meet lots of people.

I live in a Senses supported home and have two housemates. When I’m at home I enjoy cooking and gardening. I also play the organ and have one in my home. My housemates like to listen to me play and we have lots of singalongs.

The Senses team are great at supporting me to do what I like to do. Mondays I go dancing, Tuesday I go to the Gym, Wednesday I go to Men’s Shed, Thursday is volunteering, Friday is my ceramics class and Saturday I go bowling.

Thank you to the Senses team leaders and support staff you are very helpful.”
