Early years therapy

Our team works in partnership with you and your child, aged 0 to 5 years, to support their development.

Goal setting

We will meet with you to talk about your goals for your child; what you would like them to be able to do and what support you would like. Together, we will then plan how we can support your child to achieve these goals.

Our team

Our team is made up of:

  • Occupational therapists.
  • Physiotherapists.
  • Speech pathologists.
  • Social workers.
  • Clinical psychologists.
  • Deafblind Consultants.
  • Other supports as required.

Services

We can help you and your child achieve goals which support:

  • Communication – to enable your child to communicate what they want to help them to understand others better.
  • Specific skill development – for example walking, using hands for play etc.
  • Eating and drinking safely.
  • Hydrotherapy and playgroup.
  • Equipment – that you child needs to be safe at home or in the community (including while they are at school).
  • Safe use of equipment – enabling your child to use their equipment safely and helping others who support them to use it safely.
  • Using technology.
  • Participation – encouraging and enabling your child to participate in community activities, for example playgroup.
  • Exploring other sources of funding.

What do our services look like?

  • We can visit you at your home.
  • We can visit you in the community or place or recreation.
  • We can visit your child at day care or school.
  • We can support you to use strategies to help your child’s learning within everyday tasks.
  • We visit you at times when it’s good for you and/or others who support you.
  • We run a range of groups, for example hydrotherapy and playgroup.
  • We can work with other professionals involved in your child’s life.

How do I access disability services for my child?

Access to our Early years services can be through:

  • WA National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) funding.
  • National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) funding.
  • Disability Services Commission (DSC) – eligibility criteria apply.
  • Fee for the service.
  • Medicare rebate for Allied Health Services through referral from your GP.

Referral form
